Web publishing is the latest craze to sweep the world of books and one author from Barnet is hoping to catapult her novels into the mainstream.

Cindy Mellor of Temple Fortune has published her first book, Angel, online via www.lulu.com and has found it way of bypassing the traditional publishers which can be notoriously difficult to get involved.

She said: "Traditional publishers often aren't interested in you unless you are a big name, so I became a bit disenchanted with the whole process."

"Then I found out about this website and it didn't cost me anything."

"It is really big in America and less well known over here but it is starting to take off."

She has now almost finished writing the sequel to Angel; 'Angel Sacrifice', and she wants to give away a free signed copy of it to the first 1,000 readers who buy her debut as well.

She said: "The books are not actually printed until someone orders one over the internet and then it is sent direct to their homes."

"I'm in the process of editing 'Angel Sacrifice' and it will be ready in about 3 months."

Cindy is hoping that her two novels may attract the attention of film or TV producers.

She added: "It's a very visual book and it's about film stars so if I find myself fliming in the desert with George Clooney and Brad Pitt that would be fantastic."

"I'm not going to lie: it's not War And Peace, it's a blockbuster and I'm not taking myself too seriously ."
